The Sustainability Revolution: Portrait of a Paradigm Shift

Sustainability, author Andres Edwards argues, is more than a trendy buzzword. It is an actual movement. Early on in The Sustainability Revolution, he contrasts sustainability with environmentalism. While not dismissing the latter, he feels the former is a broader and deeper effort, better equipped to affect fundamental change.

Edwards isolates five sectors with the greatest stake in sustainability, and then tracks in very specific terms what sustainability might mean within each. He spans the globe to sketch innovative projects and policies in
places like Colombia, Brazil, India and the Netherlands. He also finds that sustainability has deep roots in the American tradition, giving special attention to the writings of Emerson and Thoreau.  To delve more deeply into all that sustainability means, read this addition to LiveTrue’s living green book collection.
